Kinja'd!!!

ESPN was a little rude focusing on the Warriors fan with the mustache during the final second.

But damn the Raptors matched up well against an all time great team.

That was fun, I just generally route for the underdog or the team that hasn’t made it over the hump before in most sports. I hadn’t even watched the NBA finals in years, great game, although the in the last  few minutes the game seem to hinge more on mistakes and turnovers than great plays.  Toronto seemed a little hungrier (go figure) and got a well deserved win and championship.

They got lucky that Klay and KD were hurt. If they were there it would've been over for them. The dominance they showed in the brief minutes with their full roster in game 5 would've been too much for the Raptors.

I agree about Thompson but Durant was clearly going to  miss this Finals and the Warriors have won without him

1) if they had Klay for the rest of this game 6 then they probably would won and taken it to 7

2) actually, the Warriors would’ve been long gone if KD didn’t show up in game 5 and drop that 11 points. And there was always the possibility spoken of that he’d return, and he did, evening it was short lived. He made his contribution and I feel that’s what brought  the Warriors this far.

So you’re clearly from Oakland. The Raptors were better in almost all moments of this series. Golden State was in serious foul trouble all night—like Green would be out a game.

Not from Oakland. Born in Chicago and stuck in Florida. Anyways, yes, the Raptors were playing better basketball. However, with KD on the floor or becomes more difficult to double team with the risk of Klay or Steph getting open for 3. The way it went down was basically this: Cousins is a shell of his former self, Curry seemed very tired for some reason and kept throwing ridiculous lazy passes, Klay, Iggy, Looney and KD were hurt and played still, which means that they weren’t as good as they could’ve been and half of them ended up getting seriously hurt, as you saw last game and tonight. But anyways, Green and Cousins kept fouling and turning over along with Curry and there were just so many careless plays by Golden State. All I’m trying to say is, they clearly were wounded and not at their best compared to the Raptors with their full team and stars playing, and ye t they still managed to take it to game 6. Now imagine they weren't wounded, the Raptors wouldn't have stood a chance. So it's not just a lack of KD that cost then the chip, it was that their whole team threw a CEL and still managed to get you a mile from home.

Curry was completely off tonight, sloppy and missing. I agree losing Klay was serious as he’s been lights out from the 3’s, but the fourth period is won in the key & with Green in foul trouble it wasn’t going to happen against Gasol & Leonard. I think the Raptors are legitimately good.

Yeah. Even as a Warriors fan I can’t deny the sheer skill and talent of the Raptors, especially Kawhi. Though I still believe  the Hamptons Five lineup, if they were all there and healthy, would beat these Raptors. Sadly, I don't believe the Warriors are going the be the same again for a while, maybe forever. If anything it was nice while it lasted. Le sigh.

Nothing against Toronto but t his Warriors team was clearly a shell of its usual self.

When t he Warriors won without KD they were a much deeper team. They had a lot of players contributing meaningful points. The Warriors haven’t had that depth since adding KD. Which is fine but if you lose KD there’s fewer scorers to fall back on.

Those 2014-15 pre-KD Warriors beat a Cleveland team constructed of LeBron, a collection of spare parts, and Kyrie sitting on the bench for all but one game of the series. TIMOFEY MOZGOV was the Cavs’ leading scorer after LeBron.

That’s a time machine.

Obviously the Klay injury was a huge  deal, but depth isn’t the issue. Steph Curry looked sloppy and tired throughout the series except for moments like game 5.

The main thing to me is this year’s Raptors were a much better team than the Cavs that the pre-KD Warriors beat.

Kinja'd!!!

Kinja'd!!!

The Raptors averaged 111.5 points and 23.0 assists per game in these finals. The Cavs were at 93.5 points and 15.8 assists.
